                       Shot in the Heart

Shots in the dark
Or in the light....
What's the difference
When you made it seem all right?

I caught  those bullets
One by one
Feeling my warm blood flow slow
Then you were done

They pierced through my skin
And went straight to my heart
Each and every time
As each piece broke apart

I watched the pieces, of my heart
Fall to the floor
Then I looked up
And saw you fire many more

But as soon as I turned around
There she was
Simple, Pretty, and clean
With no bullets or blood

Once you saw her
You stopped your rapid rage
Then looked down upon me
And felt pity, as I slowly faded away

You dropped the gun
And made it look like a sad suicide
And shouted at the top of your lungs
"Screw you...she won."

Four years...
Came and left
And still
My heart bled and wept

And although I catch you glancing back
From time to time
I see you act like your happy
Happy, with your crime

But I know you better than that
I really do
So, please come back and get me
You know, only you can make me like new
