Lane's Rocket Page
This is the place where all my cool rocket stuff will be. I
just got into the hobby in December. But I have been trying to make up
for lost time.
Here is my first rocket. It ended up being a tree ornament, but
that is what happens when you launch rockets. They tend to land where you
don't want them too.
It was a Quest Shockwave.
I have been making rockets from scratch. No Estes, Quest, Loc/Precision,
or anything else parts. It is much more fun to make them than to
buy kits with all the neat stuff already done.
When I get a chance to scan some more photos in there will be lots
of pics of my scratch made babies.
This is my son's rocket. It is an Estes Flash on a C6-5.
This is the Mondo Hondo.
It is my first scratch made project. I used 3 inch Mailing tube
for the sustainer and nose cone.
Duraplex for the fins. This is it's second flight, the
first was on a G35-4w and the one in the picture is a
F50-4T. There are no store bought rocket parts in this one.
This is the Arcada. It is my latest scratch built beaut.
I used 2.5 inch mailing tube and 1/4 inch lite ply for the fins. I painted
it with chrome paint to make it shiny. I do not recommend doing this as
you can't touch it without making the paint turn grey.
This is it's first flight. I used a G35-4W.
This is my Astrocam. My son let the film fall out of the camera
so I didn't get any pics from it.
This is Further. It went Further than I wanted it to and lost it.
This was it's first flight.
It flew perfectly on a F20-7W. Last seen drifting to the south.
It was made from a 2 inch mailing tube. I used duraplex on the
fins and did not paint them. It looked like it had no fins.
I will miss this one.
