The life of a child,

either young or old,

is an awesome spectrum

of their life

constantly unfolding.

 

In every moment

and every action,

thousands of images

race through our minds,

minuses and plusses as well.

 

Each day in their race

from birth thru maturity,

all their life’s experiences,

which we were able to share,

we are privileged to relive again.

 

All at one time,

baby’s first steps

couple with that walk down an aisle,

their tiny fingers grasp ours,

then another’s hand holds theirs.

 

If they be taken from us,

without a tender death bed farewell,

though we grieve what’s lost for a time,

that which they were with us,

can never, ever be taken away.
