And the flowers bloomed,
And the day was bright,
From the doors of heaven;
Downfell the light.
It was end of snow,
It was end of frost,
And the cuckoo sang;
And gay was the plight,
Then the merry children,
The dancing sea,
All wished to listen
For eternity.
Now once again,
The snow is gone,
There is no frost,
Uprise the morn,
But dull it is,
No flowers, no flight
Of gleeful bird,
So there is no light
Falling from heaven,
And dance of sea
Has vanished thump,
And smile of youth,
Is sigh of age,
Friends come, friends go;
Ye is to survive,
No matter how painful
Is this bitter strife
