Life grows and overflows our careful page...
An excerpt from Heartworks (c):

Spring Spirals

Scent of rain in spring on desert dust,
Like the laundry from the sun-dried line,
Ozone-enhanced -- it promises I must
Find my way spiraling through time
And space by sense, hearing the drops as surf,
Begin the greening dance. My lips are dry
From breathing mountain air. The echoing roof
Wakes me at dawn, calls me to drink, and I
Lift my glass to the life of rain in spring,
My eyes to desert mountains ranged in mist,
Line after line, their shadowed toothy ring
Teasing the sky, begging to be kissed
By sun and blessed in turn by rain in time,
As I step out into my mountain climb.
