It's Hell being a hero - Marvin Jackson

What was it:

"What was that in your hand that you look for so
furiously now to find,
was it the money that someone flashed in front of
you to get your attention?
Or was it something that spinned counter clock
wise on a brand new expedition?
What was that thing that sat in your hand the
whole time you were out,
chasing the wrong things,avoiding childhood
dreams cause someone's tooth blinged?
Could you use it to buy another drink at the club
where noone thinks of what they
leave behind in a bathroom sink cause y'all
wanted to get tipsy before the day brink?
Was it an empty promise before he left you with a
full stomach and nine months to
ponder the man he was and the lie he told about
six inches when it was really three,
or the all night back to back guarantee, before 10
minutes from then saw him asleep?
Why do you search for it now with your head down
to the ground cause it wasn't there,
when you had it,believe it or not
it was in your hand, remember when you decided to
drop it like it was hot, drop drop it
like it's hot?
Now the only thing that dropped that can't get
back up is the self esteem you left
in club one night after a girl fight over a damn
fool who never treated you right.
Still something was in your hand given to you by
one man who stayed strong beside you,
embracing the faults others asked you to change
but yet and still not seen as strange.
What was that in your hand that at twenty three
you chose not to see living so blindly
and often so care free cause someone said and you
believed would stay for all eternity?
Was it the sound of fifteens banging in the back
of an old school fleetwood cadillac,
was it fast money never seen again, would you love
it now if you knew what is was then,
Does this moment bring you what wasn't planned to
slip through fingers like grains of sand
is it finally now that you understand, that what
you had and let go was only my hand.

When the time comes

My day has come expectedly and I must leave
you,but I've only gone home,
though you weep for me wishing at times to
come,my road is traveled alone.
Forever is not so far away, and it is there that I
will wait for you,
weep because you loved me and laugh at all the
things we used to do.
Though you will age and days will change I will
still remember yesterday,
I'm home with those who missed me so, and could
no longer wait another day.
Memories are what you make of them, and I will
cherish those I left behind,
you prayed and wanted the best for me even on
days that were often so unkind.
Today song birds will sing for me and so many
tears from you will freely roam.
final farewell's will be said unto me and the
preacher will preach me home.
He will speak of better days as pall bearers take
me away, and I'm laid to rest,
flowers will be grown from those not to be thrown
or placed upon my chest.
I will be buried beside those who welcome me home
and allow space at God's feet,
and beneath the ground a shell of me will go, no
longer walking the weary street.
Today my life's song will play as I head for
heavenly gates my time had drawn near,
don't cry long for me or look to the ground and
seek out for me, I'll await you here.

In the end,we will remember not the words of our
enemies, but the silence of our friends.
Martin Luther King Jr.

You're not to be so blind with patriotism that you
can't face reality. Wrong is wrong, no matter who
does it or says it.
Malcolm X

Diary of the Suicidal Superstar

August 5,2005 As a take another sip from this my third cup of coffee I think of all the problems seen through my eyes so often swept underneathe rugs and closed behind doors. As a child I would have never have believed problems would find their way to my shoulders but they have. I see so many women complain about the lack of "Real Men" in their lives but yet and still they support the sorriest excuse of a man with no valid explanation other than the statement they can change him.Ladies...you can not under any circumstances change anyone that does not want to be changed. Change comes from within.Next problem....the moron that we call President. As a world leader you should be expected to know certain things, for example when you start something with an objective you should know when it is meant to be completed. He has given America no proof that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction (other than the fact he may still have the receipt) and continues to spin millions of dollars on a war generated for his own ego all the while his own country suffers. Suffers how you may ask? Today for regular unleaded gas is $2.24 and rising, unemployment is at an all time high and unless your wealthy you are suffering from laws the wealthy and politically inclined are creating in what is said to be better for the economy. Fact - When someone from lower to middle class runs for office and states the legitimate problems he or she has no chance of winning an election. The slobbering wealthy Oxford undergrad who's never been to a lower class community will win in a landslide simply because of his political affiliates mean while the poor remain poor and the hungry remain starving. There are only two times that these people come to a poor community and it it usually during the same instance- once when votes are needed and again when they are making streets wider to make it seem like they're helping.Helpful opinion, if you want to relate move to one of the communities you claim to care so much about and relate to real people. Don't sit in your two story brick mansion with your french maid and english butler and tell someone you can relate.Pull your kids out of private schools and put them in one that you hear about on the news, maybe then you can relate.Till then I won't tell you anything about being rich because I've never been so don't attempt to tell me anything about being poor.

A walk on faith is never a walk alone:

Psalm 15
A psalm of David.
LORD , who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill? He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman, who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the LORD , who keeps his oath even when it hurts, who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken.

The pain doesn't feel as bad somedays, but hurts nonetheless.I would have liked for you to see the man that I have become. When the time comes I can only wish to love my son as much as you loved me.And yes,it's still so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.
