Each day starts and
then it is through
did you finish all
you wanted to do?
Any loose ends
or jobs incomplete
ongoing tasks
and deadlines to meet?
Caught up in the rush
trying to get it all done,
just once I'd like to finish
before the setting of the sun.
Why do we doing this
what joy to be found
working ourself to the bone
driving ourself into the ground?
STOP!, take a look
and what do you see
just more tasks ahead
HEY! what about me?
This may be selfish
or even seem greedy
but what about me
when I am needy?
Stuck on this tread mill
I know there’s more to life,
please cut me free
give me the knife.
