Technological Literacy: Technology, Internet Possibilities, and the Learner

Literacy is a bridge that takes readers from one theoretical riverside to another. Their current understanding can allow for new possibilities of the horizon. Many readers are enamored with the landscape as they start to cross the bridge, and perhaps they never make it to the next point as the water swirls below. The watery depths spin and ebb constantly for the mesmorized reader, who can become caught up in a myriad of details. A few may hurry forward concentrating on the bridge and the patterns of architecture that support it. Meanwhile, others may say farewell to the otherside, and some may return to their beginning point after crossing the river. Nevertheless, reading is a journey that one can appreciate only with a solid footing underneath. Thus, how does one build this bridge of literacy? More importantly, is technology creating a fourth literacy that extends beyond the current literacy skills of readers?

The comprehension bridge is invaluable!
