ONE MISTAKE TOO MANYWhy do some people have to make the same mistake more than once beore they learn from it? I’m one of those people. I think it just doesn’t get through to them after only one time. Sometimes realisation happens after more than one time. We also have the classic case of the mistake being too fun to only make once. What also happens is that the consequences of the first time aren’t that bad. Don’t be fooled, they get worse everytime.
There are also people who immediately learn from their mistakes after the first time and won’t make the same mistake twice. They have that great ability.
And, there’s also a group that rather prevent than heal. It can be good if you don’t want to get hurt, but life is about learning, experiencing, making mistakes. From healing you learn, you feel, you know.
Life is all about balance and that’s the same with mistakes. Make one mistake too many, the side of hurt will be heavier than the side of learning, life, body and fun.
Make no mistakes, take no risks, the side of boredom, being naïve, not experiencing will be heavier than the side of learning, life, body and fun.
I’m not saying that you can only have fun and learn in life through mistakes, but it sure is a help. You can also just have holes in your life and keep wondering: What if? And that is the last thing a person should think.
The best group is the second one. Don’t be afraid to do things, experiment, have fun. But, when you know you’ve made a mistake, don’t do it again, no matter how fun it was or how small the consequences were. When you know, stop. It’s easier said than done, I know, I’ve been there and I’ve done that. But I always say: Easier said than done, doesn’t mean it can’t be done. You just need strength, faith in yourself, motivation to keep your body and mind intact and your friends and family. Believe me, we all have at least one of them.
Stay true to yourself, your body, mind, heart and soul and don’t make the same mistake more than once before you ruin that part of your whole life. You don’t want to lose the people around you, you don’t want to despise yourself. Think twice before you repeat a mistake.
