DON'T JUST FOLLOW YOUR HEARTAlways follow your heart and everything will turn out right. Is that really true? Thinking about it, no matter what, you got to stay realistic. So let’s face the fact, the heart isn’t exactly the most realistic and sane part of the body.
Walking down memory lane, I realize that it not always turned out right when I followed my heart. The way I see it, the heart sees things the mind does not and vice versa. In other words, the heart sees the invisible things, such as feelings and emotions. The mind sees what is really happening. When something has to be done, you shouldn’t only follow your heart, listen to what your mind says too.
The heart can tell you if you feel something or not and if you want to show it or not. The mind can tell you if you should or shouldn’t. There has to be collaboration between those two or else you will end up wrong. A mind without a heart is cold, a heart without a mind is like a chicken without a head. You can feel the warmth of where you are, you can walk around, but you can’t see if you’re going to bump to a fence. The heart can’t see everything and so can’t the mind and that’s why they have to help each other.
If it happens that they don’t think the same, listen to what says what. If the heart decides something about sanity, ignore it. If the mind tries to say something about feelings, ignore that. If you don’t know what to think, that’s called a doubt. A doubt means no. That doesn’t mean no forever, it just means you have to wait until it’s time, until they have found a solution.
Don’t just follow your heart. Try to be a little bit realistic, let your mind decide with you. They need each other to see everything. You can follow your heart without thinking, but you’ll only end up somewhere if you’re lucky. Only when there is no time to think, you’ll have to follow your heart impulsively. But when there is time, don’t do something you’re afraid you’ll regret sooner or later. Think about it a little and everything will turn out right.
It’s a collaboration between sanity, emotions, realism and feelings. A collaboration we can’t do without.
Think before you act. Let your heart tell you what you feel, let your mind tell you which way to run with what you feel. Let heaven and earth work together.
