Article from www.indolink.com/News/International/news_050403-000701.php New hope for resolution of Kashmir issue

Comment

If any community can claim to be unbiased in attempts to resolve the conflict over Kashmir (between India and Pakistan), it will be the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslim sect of Islam, free of aspirations for political gains. The guiding force for the community is the Aga Khan, spiritual leader, intensely involved in humanitarian efforts in a number of third world countries.

One needs only to look at the work of The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) and Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). Wellbeing of human life through peaceful existence that supports socio-economic developments is the single dominant objective of AKF and AKDN.

No political authority around the world can claim impartiality when attempting to resolve conflicts between nations. By taking sides political authorities simply clamour to attain self-serving authority over others at the expense of the masses whose difficulties take new forms and facets.
