The Green Pajamas
The Elusive Dr. D.
She comes in through the door
Illuminates the air
Floats above the floor
With midnight in her hair
Then suddenly she's gone
Like a ghost ship on the sea
The elusive Dr. D
I see her in the hall
A glimpse of black-clad leg
My instinct is to crawl
My instinct is to beg
My heart is in my throat
There's weakness in my knees
For the elusive Dr. D
How do I describe
That perfect winter face
The knowledge in her eyes
Those hands of healing grace
I feel The Queen of Heaven
Is looking right at me
The elusive Dr. D
