Healing

When you lose someone, whether it be that they have just moved on, or they have passed on, we must grieve. It is our mind's way of healing the wound left by the loss. These are my interpretations.

I Thought

In Loving memory of my friend, Joe... I thought I lost a friend today/ For in my private sky/ A star was missing from it's place/ Though I did not know why/ I thought I lost a friend today/ For now I cannot hear/ The words that always made me smile/ They're now replaced by tears/ I thought I lost a friend today/ His reassurance gone/ The helping hand he gave to me/ When I could not go on/ I thought I lost a friend today/ For now I kneel and pray/ My time with him was much too short/ And now he's gone away/ I thought I lost a friend today/ But then he spoke to me/ "Just close your eyes, and I'll be there/ In your fondest memories"

The Gift

What do you do when you meet someone/ Who has a certain way/ Of sharing light and making bright/ Your darker shades of gray?/ What do you say when they comfort you/ With words of love and hope/ When all their woes are set aside/ As they show you how to cope?/ How do you feel when you find a friend/ And time just seems to fly/ And just when they have touched your heart/ It's time to say goodbye?/ You make as many memories/ As time allows and then/ You photograph them in your mind/ To visit once again/ You promise them that they have made/ A place within your heart/ And that you'll not forget them when/ The time has come to part/ But most important is the vow/ You honor when they're gone/ Of sharing what they've given you/ From that moment on

Ritual

A gaze thru blurry window/ When did it start to rain?/ Then realize it's just the eyes/ They're crying once again/ Emptiness is mighty/ Deep within begins the ache/ Intense, this pain that surely/ Will cause a heart to break/ Shoulders gently tremble/ A moaning soft and low/ Arms tightly wrapped about oneself/ Body rocking to and fro/ A ritual of comfort/ A numbing of the mind/ A cleansing of the tortured soul/ A knowing eye made blind/ Thus begins the healing process/ Of this I know so well/ Without you, I fall victim to/ This mindless cast of spell HOME BACK NEXT
