Ann's Review of the CSR

NOTE: “Ann the Man” is my very cool Mizzie friend, who introduced me to Les Miz. So, I’m posting her review on the web for the world to read. HOORAY! (except for the fact that ANTHONY WARLOW is the only choice for Enjolras!)

alrighty...i'm trying my hardest not to make it biased i really promise...

Gary Morris-Jean ValJean A

He has richness and power to his voice, and considering he used to be a country singer he did a great job, and didn't have any twangs in the wrong places or anything, but he really doesn't have the acting ability for Valjean that Wilkinson has. He has all the high notes, and sounds great but just does not act like a proper "dad" to Cosette.

Phillip Quast-Javert A+

He's a great Javert. All of the Javerts on all of the recordings are, he's got a lot of emotion and Javertly things that he does in his preformance that make it all the better. I love his 'stars' and 'suicide'.

Debbie Byrne-Fantine B

She was fine. Not comparable to the other fantastic women who played Fantine though. She has a pretty voice, but its a higher register than those who normally get casted as Fantine, so it was hard for me to get used to. She doesn't have the emotion Ruthie has in the finale and Ruthie and Randy both have stronger voices, but Debbie's IDAD can bring one to tears.

Tracy Shane-Cosette B

She has some great Cosettely emotions especially in "In My Life" which are probably Cosette's deepest lyrics but on first listenings she really sounds like a bleating lamb.

Michael Ball-Marius A+

Great Marius! Beautiful voice that just is Marius, and his ECAET is extremely powerful, as it is on all the recordings of him.

Kaho Shimada-Eponine

A++ I was SHOCKED when I found out she didn't know English! She gives a sad portrayal of Eponine which will bring one to tears, her OMO is quitely done at first and you will be shocked when she belts out "blind" and "known" also I love how she does the high note on pretending. She has a beautiful voice and did AMAZINGLY considering she didn't know English. But I'm biased to Lea!

Anthony Warlow-Enjolras (i guess i'll say A-)

The rest of the world thinks he's god except for me. I'm biased towards Michael Maguire who I think can act a hell of a lot better than Warlow. Warlow does have an incredible vocal range and was fabulous in his recording of J&H sings some of the lines amazingly I like his "red and black" a lot, but Michael Maguire has much more the emotions of Enjolras. Anthony Warlow is fine I guess. Since I'm talking to the rest of the world out there you'll probably think he's god.

~*~**~* k, i hope you like it! i know i didn't include some of the characters because...i'm supposed to be working out my speech and stuffings...but i hope i wasn't TOO biased towards my precious tac:D your fellow mizzie yey
