A Heart of Stone



You have left this time..I realize you are gone.
Be still my heart, stop breaking
The trembling hands..my heart is breaking.
I have asked for nothing
Please my heart, stop aching

I grew so strong and felt alive;
You brought me here, but now I've died.
I cannot do this thing again.
This time my heart will not mend.
I turned it to stone to stop the pain.

A love not there, nothing is gained.
My heart and soul had finally found peace.
You opened my soul, but now that has ceased.
You can not love me, or feel the same;
I gave so freely, I feel so ashamed.
What was I thinking?



I'm smarter than this.
A new friend, a loving man I truly will miss.
I thought I could handle it,
but I was wrong from the start.
Oh God, take this pain from my heart.

I have been a fool...How did I let this start?
I knew better, once I was smart.
He opened my heart and soul, and now he's gone.

Someone special I know I will miss.
He touched me, he moved me, a gentleness.
I asked of him nothing,
and yet now he is gone.



No committment, no owing, and no strings attached.
My heart is broken and my soul has crashed....
and still he is gone.
Did I tell him how much I cared?

Did I tell him I loved him?
How did I dare?
Then worst of all...he cannot care.
He told me he don't loved me and don't wanted to share.
He wants not my love...he cannot be there.

I will take my heart now and set it in stone.
I didn't want to love him, I can't bear this alone!
He was not true, a dream I just knew.
He was not mine to take, my heart to break.



I have done this but once before; but never again,
there will be no more!
He was not real....a fantasy.
So 'heart' turn to cold and ice;

reality a horrible price!
He is gone, someone I will miss.
So heart I will bury you deep, I did it before,
but now it's for keeps.

My heart, my soul forever asleep;
I thought I was strong, but I was weak.
Of this love no more shall I speak.
When it comes to the heart, a fool I was weak.

No one gets hurt, and nothing has changed;
A love not there, nothing is gained.
A STONE HEART " feels no pain.
