Daniel Levine grew up in New York City. Both of his
parents were musicians and he was exposed to all kinds
of music as a young child. He started playing trumpet
in school and in high school began to play jazz, write
songs, and listen to music more closely. Before his
senior year he left his high school to spend more time
playing and practicing. This was a time when he got
know many people with whom he would develop deep
musical and personal friendships. At 18 he attended
New England Conservatory and after a year he left, back
to New York.
