A FRIEND AND NEIGHBOR
By: L. M. Willson

Come and be a friend of Mine,
And tell Me of your woes.
I'll listen while you seek to find,
Peaceful solace and repose.
I'll always be your neighbor.
When trouble comes your way.
My hand is always offered,
When you begin to pray.
I ask only that you love Me,
And confide in Me as a loving friend.
I am always yours for the asking.
I'll be there till the end.
So won't you come and be My friend,
And love Me as I do you?
A sinner to Me you'll never be,
When My forgiveness you pursue.
Ask Me for My blessings.
I'll never from you withhold,
For when you come as a little child,
My word to you I have foretold.
My Father and I are One.
He loves you as you love Me.
He created all the universe,
And only He can make a tree.
Now go forth into the land.
Tell them you are a friend of Mine.
Tell them that like friends we are,
Your Friend is God Divine.
Repeat My word as I revealed to you,
And pray they understand.
For if they love Me as you do,
I'll bless them more than are grains of sand.
I promised to be with you,
Even till the end of time,
So be My friend and neighbor,
And you'll always be Mine sublime.
