Hi, and welcome to our site. Let me introduce myself. My name is Laurie and I am 37 years old. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. And no, I don`t have an accent, YOU DO!!! LOL.
Well, Lets cut to the chase. I thought maybe you would like to know what inspired me to write poetry. As a child I was a victim of abuse and I found poetry to be an outlet where I was, and am, able to say what I wanted to say and still be safe in the process.
Life has changed alot for me as of three years ago. I met my life partner and things have turned around for me. For one thing, I now wake up smiling, well, after I have my first cup of coffee, anyway :-)
