"Water"
~ Cassie
Aren’t the dreams like water?
They slide over your skin, clear and sweet
One dream falls upon your hair and you look up, hoping for a deluge of illusion
They flow in easily, taking you by force for your own pleasure
And always I craved the liquid of lies, the slick euphoria of a fluid world
A dear dragon contained in a glass and a knight beholden to your lips
And I was always an angel, falling swiftly into a deep blue pool of fantasy
They slide over your skin, dripping with the colors of a thousand worlds
I never stopped wanting the world of adventure, the world of melody, and the world of peace
And the dreams flowed in, quenching my parched mouth, soothing my burned skin,
Healing my calloused hands
I lived for the liquid of lies, wanting to be the faint tremble to every dream created
The dreams floated in easily, and I floated as easily away
Every world dripped from my hands, my lips, my skin
And I drowned in them all, a fallen angel.
