Toad and Wanda KISSED. *cries* well, granted Wanda didn't know it was him...
alright, so the episode was great; it was funny, sweet, well-written, it introduced new characters, stayed true to the comix while still being inventive...
i don't know about Todd's character though. seems like lately they've been pulling him in all sorts of directions; like when the BOM went back-2-skool- he was again portrayed as a bit skeevy. in this episode, he's the Toad Prince once more. what's goin' on? o well, as much as we fangirls and fanboys would hate to admit it, Evo is not *gasp* reality- it's still a show being written by people and Todd is a device they like to use to mess with our heads.
but anyway...
this episode was an absolute gem. we saw Pyro in the beginning, and we even heard him laugh. go Johnny! and though we saw Colossus and Gambit as well, we heard neither of their voices (which in Remy's case might be a good thing for us. can't they get an ACTUAL cajun guy?), and barely saw them move. we did see the back of Colossus' thigh tho'. lol.
also introduced was our own Mastermind.
i don't know why he was in Italy though, with a name like Jason Wyngarde, i doubt he can be very Italian. he's too ugly to be Italian. ;) just in case anyone doesn't know or isn't sure what Mastermind's power is, he can change memories, make anyone believe whatever he wants them to- that they're a complete different person, that they hate their loved ones, that he's someone they know and trust. which makes him a contender for 'most potentially dangerous'; a position Mystique held until now. however he's usually made out as pretty pathetic, and in truth he is. but, to quote Toddy, he "really did a number on [Wanda's] head." and now that we're on the subject...
If Wanda finds out what happened, any potential for the 'new relationship' her father wants with her will be gone beyond repair. maybe she'll find it in her heart to forgive her twin, Pietro. personally, i'd like to see them getting along. (though i'll admit it's hilarious to see P-Dawg scared.)
On the 'Crawler front:
Todd busting into the Sefton House and swiping Kurt's inducer didn't exactly brighten up his chances w/ Amanda's 'rents. They've apparently banned her from seeing him, but Amanda doesn't care. She's going to keep seeing him anyway. sehr gut!
yet another plus to this ep: we got to see some quality Blob action. Pietro is enjoying his official leader position *cough cough NAPOLEON cough cough*, and is making everyone wait on him. While Todd's up on the roof being the TV antenna (get with the times, man! go digital!), Fred is making P-dawg's lunch. Pietro sends the sandwich back, because apparently Freddy-boy forgot that the grilled onions were supposed to be on the side. Grumbling, Fred returns to the kitchen. Lance walks into the room... and one snippy comment later, an armchair flies through the window, just missing Pietro's head; Todd falls off the roof, tangled up in a wire and still clutching the antenna, and Fred walks back into the room.
Lance: "That's it!! I'm through taking orders from you!!!"
Todd: *whines* "I'm tired of bein' a TV antenna..."
Fred:"An' I'm tired'a doin' your cookin, Pietro! *looks down at the sandwich in his hands* He didn't even notice the radish roses... I'm THROUGH!" *throws plate on floor and storms out of the room* rotfl!!!
Lovey-Dovey Todd Moments:
*"Babycakes! You've come BACK to me!!"
*"Say the word, Poopsie, and we'll head up to the lodge and sip cocoa by the fire."
*Todd: "But- Sweetums! I- I'm your servant... your slave... just tell me what I gotta be to win your love!"
Wanda: "Someone else." (ooh, burn.)
*(to Kurt) "I just... *sigh* I wanna chance to look good for Wanda... like you do for Amanda."
and finally, Todd admits what we've known about him and Kurt the whole time:
Todd: (to Kurt)"Hiding who we are is something you and me got in common... Especially for people we care about. Whaddya say?"
Kurt: *relenting sigh* "Somebody kick me."
Todd: "All right! You my MAIN elf!"
Could this be the beginning of a beautiful friendship? Everybody go *awww*!
random fact: the title is a reference to C.S. Lewis' The Lion, the Witch, and The Wardrobe. go read it if you haven't already!
