He's best known for being the poor sap who always falls for Bart Simpson's prank calls.
"Amanda Huggenkiss? Amanda Huggenkiss? I'm lookin' for Amanda Huggenkiss? Why can't I find Amanda Huggenkiss?"
But there is more, oh, so much more to this lonely crab of a bartender than meets the eye. From what I've heard, he is a former child actor! (Please don't tell him I told you that!) He played the Ugly Kid on the old black and white favorite, the 'Our Gang' show. There's been some talk that he's still getting residual checks, and that's how he's kept the bar open all this time, since his only customers are pretty much the four regulars, Homer, Barney, Lenny and Carl. Minus Barney, of course, whenever he's on another sobriety stint.
Another thing that his being a Former Child Actor might explain is his famous Barely-Controlled-Rage. He keeps a shotgun behind the bar, for crying out loud. Most Former Child Actors are pretty messed up. ;)
He's also somewhat of a perv: he's been caught on the phone with Escort Services (who hang up on him), he videotapes the Mail-Lady's crotch through the mailslot, he enjoys games of strip poker w/ Barney just a liiiiiiiiiittle too much (*Barney loses a hand* Barney:"Awww, I hate this game." *starts undoing his fly* Moe:"Uh-uh, slowly. Make me forget my troubles."), etc. But I guess you really can't blame the guy, he obviously isn't getting any. The only time I'm aware of that he scored was during the (In?)Famous "Flaming Moe" episode. Check out this lie detector test if you don't beleive me.
Also, he's supposed to be Italian, though it must be on his mother's side. Szyslak, though a wicked last name, is so not Italian.
