hey all! this is a preview of a fic i am writing w/ a good buddy of mine, AngelOfDeath. once i get her okay, i'll provide y'all w/ an email link to her.
anyway, this is a Harry Potter/Evo crossover fic... i don't want to give away the plot so i'll just put up a bit from the Sorting Ceremony. ;)
scene starts just after Cyke is sorted into Gryffindor (it goes alphabetically, remember?). for reference, Pietro has been sorted into Slytherin, Lance into Gryffindor, and Fred into Hufflepuff. (trust us, we KNOW what we're doing!)
"Todd Tolensky."
The fifteen-year-old hopped with an almost unearthly grace up to the Sorting Hat. There were many gasps and whispers about it when he put it on.
"Well now," the hat squeaked, "you're a case, aren't you? Not nearly as bad as some of the others, though..."
"Whoa!" Said Todd out loud, "you were right Fred! The hat talks to you!! Coolio!" He shot a grin to his large friend across the room.
"Indeed. Well, to get down to business, you're intelligent, though you don't let on, though you're not Ravenclaw material... a crafty one, eh? we've got alot of mischeif-makers this year... let's see, you're fiercely loyal, though you're not very brave... you're rather nonchalant, but deep down I see you can be a highly efficient worker; you're devoted, and aim to please..."
"Yeah, too bad it gets me nowhere," Todd said. He looked pretty funny conversing with a voice that only he could hear.
"A cynic as well, I see. And a good sense of humor, good, we need as much of that as we can get... hmm... all considered, I think you'd do very well in..."
"In what?" Todd asked.
"HUFFLEPUFF!!" the hat screamed.
"Wicked, yo! I get ta chill with Fred!" the boy exclaimed, giving a little hop to the top of the stool and jumping halfway across the great hall, landing next to his table.
"Hufflepuff in da HIZ-OUSE!!!!" he crowed, slapping Fred a high five, then a low five, and hopped onto a seat next to him.
"All right!" said Freddy, "we're gonna tear this place apart! From now on, NOBODY messes with Hufflepuff!"
