Self Posessed

it has always been hard. but it was okay, for a while. then it caught up with her. all those people... none of them left.

it got a little too crowded.

did it seem a little too good that Rogue got memories, powers, and life force... but not personality? well it was too good, and Rogue's mind made her pay for it.

the episode's opening... so ironically casual. a friendly game with Scott. a small glimpse of Rogue's insecurity is allowed, which is normal; but then, right after Scott leaves, it crumbles... onto a pile on the floor, specifically. Fred's strength and rage sends the racket Rogue is holding through the wall, then cue the angsty music.

even though she knows something is wrong, Rogue, like good little trooper she is, goes to school anyway; presumably not having divulged whats going on to anyone. she meets up with "Risty". once again, cue the irony.

Risty apologises for "not being there" for Rogue during the ordeal (referring presumably to the Sentinels and that whole business with the School), and Rogue replies that she's the one who should be sorry... "Here we are, friends, and I was hiding who I really was from you." hmmm.

well, after Rogue 'informs' 'Risty' about the details of her mutation, and confides that she's been having trouble with it lately, Mystique (in a moment of sheer stupidity) proposes going to the concert everyone's been talking about, which will be PACKED, to 'laugh at the geeks' or something like that.

the result? suprise, suprise; it's catastrophe.

and the result of this catastrophe? enlightenment to betrayal. ignorance is truly bliss.

after two of the most forceful personalities manifest themselves at the concert (Sabretooth and Juggernaut, not unpredictably), Mystique and Rogue run into eachother in an alleyway, and Rogue FINALLY flips out on her. literally.

the whole rest of the episode is pretty much chaos. the x-men go after 'Sabretooth', Rogue kicks everyone's asses three times over...

and then everyone kicks her ass; from the inside. she buckles. Wolverine is the only one here to really help Rogue (Cyke pretty much just stands there and looks pretty)... until Chuck busts in and saves the day. *rolls eyes*

fittingly, the episode ends with a prediction of doom from Destiny.

Apocalypse is coming back.
