definitely a cool episode, and an awesome throwback to the classic x-men comics, with which i'm very familiar. the storyline was in no way contrived, the character dialog didn't suck that much, and we finally got to hear St. John with a REAL LINE or two (i think this calls for a Pyro page, but not before i get the Classic Blob page up), even tho' alot of them were cheesy ("he's gone down under!" i mean, really).
the ending really made Mags look like an ass... i was like "Just because Mastermind is ugly doesn't mean you shouldn't take him seriously! Jeez, Maggie. Get a clue."
the whole 'glowing green giant spider guardian' was pretty 'Indiana Jones meets Old Campy Star Trek meets cheesy B-Movie', but hey, it worked. ;)
anyway, Magneto's team as of now consists of Colossus, Pyro, Gambit, Mastermind, and Sabretooth. Why he would want Sabretooth in his group i don't know. anyway, this episode, while being good, didn't really make me jump for joy on any more than two counts: Pyro getting actual lines, and Apocalypse. oh, and Beast in the spotlight for more than four point two seconds, so that makes three jumps for joy.
by the way, the background midi is "everybody wants to rule the world", in honor of our aforementioned godlike mutant. speaking of Apocalypse, does everyone know his 'deal'? i mean, any newbies who have no clue what's going on? b/c if there is, i'd be happy to explain, just drop me an email and i'll get to putting up an 'explanations' page. idunno, that just occured to me.
i also thought the baseball game in the beginning was hopelessly cute. how many fans out there have already imagined stuff like that? eeeee! plus, Kurt looks spiffy in the outfit.

speaking of Kurt, and speaking of cute, i liked the little dialog between him and Rogue in the beginning; i've been wondering about their 'bro and sis' relationship. i think it should be hilighted a lil' more, maybe with an entire episode devoted to it. here's hopin'.
