here's a really cute show that gets next to no attention. there's near no material to be found on the web, you can't imagine the time i had finding the pictures. it took forever. there is an offical website, CubixRobotsForEveryone.com, but it's intensely flash-heavy and you can't save images. which ticked me off. but anyway.
the series takes place in Bubbletown, the Robotics Capital of the World, or somesuch title, and home to RobixCorp. Connor and his dad, Graham, have just moved there. Graham works in a donut shop and (conveniently comic-releif) hates robots. he finds them confusing and annoying, and is very clumsy around them. in fact, he's very clumsy in general. needless to say, he doesn't understand his son's captivation with robots and robotics.
Connor meets up with the neighborhood kids- Abby, Chip, and Mong- and starts hanging out at the Botties Pit. the Botties Pit is the local Robot Repair shop, run by the daughter of the founder of RobixCorp, and one of the foremost Robotists around, Hela.
before Connor can officially join the Botties, he has to pick one of the junk robots and repair it in one day. Connor, predictably, picks the one robot that absolutely can't be fixed: Cubix.
predictably, he fixes him. would there be a show if he didn't?
Connor is a character perfectly cut from the "Golden Child"/"Chosen One" template. he's impulsive, intuitive, idealistic, and very determined. he's got a bit of a one-track mind, and concentrates very well. he's good natured, a little soft-spoken, driven, and energetic. he's got a natural talent for robotics and an aptitude for science, just like the rest of the Botties.
Abby is to Connor as Misty is to Ash. she's fiery, spunky, outspoken, adventurous, and self-assured. Hela is her biggest role model. if the people in the show moved from pre-teen to teen, she'd definitely be 'with' Connor. sometimes it seems as if she has a crush on him. idunno, maybe i'm reading too far into that. actually, come to think of it, she kindof looks like Misty, too. continuing with the pokémon analogy, here's her little robot buddy, who looks suspiciously like a robotic pokémon or a futuristic tamogotchi.
take notes, people. this is what furby will become.
couldn't have a show like this without the shrimpy brainiac. ;) Chip is a prodigy, having joined the Botties before reaching his eleventh birthday. he's absolutely adorable and a very sweet little kid; the little brother of the show.
he's very clever and quick-witted. he seems pretty funloving, especially for the 'geek' character. he also seems impatient, and a little fidgety; but not nervous. (i'm trying to extrapolate personality here, gimme a break. lol.) and where's the shrimpy geek without his goofy, much bigger best friend?
Mong is enthusiastic about whatever he's doing. he's vibrant and uninhibited and friendly. he's also courageous, generous, and- like Connor- has alot of heart. all of them do, in fact.

and now for the actual robot, Cubix.
Cubix is also a "Chosen One". he's the robot who feels. oooh, aaah. Cubix::Connor as Pikachu::Ash. the series is named after the robot/pokémon, but really revolves around the human characters; even though the robot/pokémon is in the spotlight alot of the time. oh, and just b/c i'm making a Pokémon reference doesn't mean i like the show. i've seen it, sometimes i'll sit thru it when i'm bored, but personally i think the show's kinda stupid.
so those are the main characters. maybe i'll add something about the villain, The Notorious Dr. K. but i don't like the villain in this show. so i probably won't. =:P luckily the villain isn't always the conflict. which is good b/c he's ugly. ::makes face:: but Chip and Mong are cute. and Hela's cool. it's an all-round adorable show, i ♥ it. =) i'm working on some adoptions, so if you like this show, you can get your doll fix here. i made Chip so far, coming soon are Mong and Hela.
