If this had been a challenge response, the challenge would have been: justify/explain what led up to Buffy’s choices in Normal Again. As it is, that’s my summary. It was betaed by the wonderful Myrtle of Myrtle&Eunice.

Blind and Waiting (cerdd_gwen)

Music: “Big Machine” by Goo Goo Dolls

Size: 5.42 MB

Format: Windows Media Video (WMV)

Rating: PG-13

Date Created: August 20, 2002

This is my first music video. It details Spike’s struggle with Buffy from “Once More with Feeling” through “Normal Again”, with a brief flashback to “Crush”. Please let me know what you think of it – any comments, criticisms and suggestions are welcomed. [Temporarily offline]

Original Sin (cerdd_gwen)

Music: “Original Sin” by Elton John

Size: 7.43 MB

Format: Windows Media Video (WMV)

Rating: PG-13

Date Created: September 14, 2002

Explores Angel’s and Darla’s intertwined past and their unhealthy dependence on each other. I’m experimenting in this video with the use of a static graphic frame, and I’ve found that it looks much better in full screen mode. Once again, any feedback is more than welcome. [Temporarily offline]

Love’s Recovery (cerdd_gwen)

Music: “Love's Recovery” by the Indigo Girls (live)

Size: 7.98 MB

Format: Windows Media Video (WMV)

Rating: PG-13

Date Created: September 22, 2002

This song fit the end of season six so perfectly that I had to make it into a video. Everything's canon, though I added a greater Buffy/Spike twist than in the show. [Temporarily offline]

Hero (ashes)

Hosted at: Band of Buggered

Music: “Hero” by Chad Kroeger

Size: 5.44 MB

Format: Windows Media Video (WMV)

Focus: Spike

So I was driving in my car the other day and this song came on the radio and I was, like, this would be a perfect song to do a video to. Luckily someone beat me to it—and did a teriffic job. I love the opening scene with Spike lying sprawled on the floor, his eyes half-closed like he’s stoned and the lyrics go: “I am so high, I can hear heaven…”

Glorious #1 (here’s luck)

Hosted at: Paper Cup

Music: “Glorious #1” by Remo Zero

Size: 5.12 MB (WMV), 4.1 MB (RAM)

Format: Windows Media Video (WMV) or Real Player (RM)

Focus: Spike, Buffy

In most music videos, it’s hard to tell between flashbacks and the main storyline, due to the very nature of cutting up clips from different episodes and trying to get them to fit the music. This is one of the few videos that makes the change distinctive, well-timed and fast enough so that it’s never boring.

Promise (Valerie X)

Hosted at: Band of Buggered

Music: “Promise” by Eve 6

Size: 4.61 MB

Format: Windows Media Video (WMV)

Focus: Spike, Buffy

If I gave out awards (which I don’t cuz that’s way too much moral responsibility for me to handle) this video would win the award for best timing. Valerie has lots of other great videos at her site, which you should definitely check out while you’re over there. (Also highly recommended: Innocent)

Rebel Yell (Luminosity)

Hosted at: Eye Candy Vid Works

Music: “Rebel Yell” by Billy Idol

Size: 9.42 MB (WMV)

Format: Windows Media Video (WMV) or Real Player (RM)

Focus: Spike, Buffy

Starts off with the feel of an 80’s action flick, but the cuts are amazing and it’s worth checking it out just for the way Luminosity puts clips from totally different scenes together seamlessly.

Room (Snow White)

Hosted at: A Little Help for My Friends

Music: “In This Room” by Leslie Tucker

Size: 6.35 MB

Format: Windows Media Video (WMV)

Focus: Joyce Summers, Buffy

It’s here because it’s beautiful and sad and I never heard the song before this and I really like it.

Southwest Voodoo (ShimmerTwins)

Hosted at: Eye Candy Vid Works

Music: “Southwest Voodoo” by Insane Clown Posse

Size: 6.89 MB (WMV)

Format: Windows Media Video (WMV) or Real Player (RM)

Focus: Willow

My all-time-favorite video. It gets better with each viewing (I would know, I’ve probably watched it like twenty times since I first downloaded it.) The action is well-timed and this is probably one of the few instances where an obvious special effect works well. It may not have been the intent of the authors, but this video actually made me like Evil Willow.

Two Worlds (Settiai)

Hosted at: Settiai’s Music Vids

Music: “Two Worlds” by Phil Collins

Size: 5.50 MB

Format: Windows Media Video (WMV)

Focus: Casts of Buffy and Angel

Great job using multiple points of view and multiple foci. Timing is right-on for clips in the music-only sections of the song. Kinda makes you yearn for a cross-over.

You Were Right There For Me (louloucn)

Hosted at: Love Stories (BTVS & ATS Var/other)

Music: “There You’ll Be” by Faith Hill

Size: 2.75 MB

Format: Windows Media Video (WMV)

Focus: Willow, Xander

A post-Grave look at Willow and Xander’s friendship. Touching.
