Calista Cates-Stanturf began writing poetry, at the urging of her daughter Krista. An award winning poet, she says she finds poetic inspiration surrounding her on the Central Oregon Coast and in life. Calista also has expanded her focus with short stories and essays.

She and her husband Roger share three daughters, and a wonderful grandson. In the outside world she works as the Operations manager / Program Director, as well as an onair talent for an AM / FM Radio station.
