Descriptif
Description of the house |
The house, which one still calls in the village "the Castle", was built, like the fortified farm at the top of the hill, with the stones of the old feudal castle, located on the hillock vis-a-vis the house, of which nothing remains. Its flank was connected in the past to the farm by an underground tunnel, its entrance is still seen in the garden, contiguous to the garage. Witness of this time it kept its thick walls. The date of 1698, registered on the chimney in oak blackened with water, indicates a masonry of late local Renaissance period. The gate with heads of horses on pillars dates of 1862. During the 2nd world war, requisitioned by the Germans, the house was victim of a fire, which devastated the top floor. Originally on two floors, the house was altered at the end of the war, with a large ground floor + attic rooms, and entirely refitted inside, before being sold to the current owners. Without changing the original plan, they modernized it (sanitary, central heating fuel), maintained it (networks, coatings), arranged it (attics) and decorated (dependences & garden) while trying to keep it to its original spirit, symbolized by the cut yews which frame the door to the garden.
