The People Prayed Unto God:

Psalm 102

Hear my prayer, O Lord,

and let my cry come unto thee.

Hide not thy face from me

in the day when I am in trouble;

incline thine ear unto me:

in the day when I call answer me speedily.

For my days are consumed like smoke,

and my bones are burned as an hearth.

My heart is smitten,

and withered like grass;

so that I forget to eat my bread.

God Replied to the People

Isaiah 41

Fear thou not;

for I am with thee:

be not dismayed;

for I am thy God:

I will strengthen thee;

yea, I will help thee;

yea, I will uphold thee

with the right hand of my

righteousness.

Behold,

all they that were incensed against thee

shall be ashamed and confounded:

they that strive with thee shall perish.

Thou shalt seek them,

and shalt not find them,

even them that contended with thee:

they that war against thee shall be as nothing,

and as a thing of nought.

For I the Lord thy God

will hold thy right hand saying unto thee,

Fear not;

I will help thee.

Attack On The US

By Rhonda Cooley

September 13, 2001

Questions were formed on the lips of Americans everywhere.

Hearts were pressed down with sadness and with care.

Disbelief filled our hearts and reflected in our eyes.

Asking one another about the how's and why's??

Each one was concerned in their own way,

On this tragic day.

Some had loved ones who were possibly traveling by air.

This filled their hearts with despair.

Could their loved one be on one of these flights?

They did their best to control their fright.

Others had children who lived in the areas where the planes went down.

Worries had their eyes full of tears and on their face was a frown.

Those of us who were not so directly hit,

Tried our best to help the others get,

The information they needed to calm their fears.

Once the loved ones were contacted, they dried their tears.

From their burdens they had relief,

Rejoining us as we stood in disbelief.

The TV continued to show us the terrible site.

The dark clouds of smoke drowning out the light.

In frustration rescue efforts were hindered,

Unbelievable were the tales news cast rendered.

How could this terrible thing have happened here in our land?

Who's signature was written by this evil hand?

Names were indicated and punishment too.

We all predicted who it could be and what the President would do.

Of course, it will take time to prove who attacked the US in such fashion.

Bush swears to search for this person and the supporters with a passion.

Angry is a simple term to describe how we the Americans feel.

It will take much time for our land to heal.

We are pulling together now in human compassion and love.

We are praying to Our God above.

Bless our leaders with wisdom today and forever.

Keep your promise, Oh God to leave us never.

We cling to the promises in your word to help us cope.

For today, that is the only thing that can give us hope.

God Bless the U.S.A.

by Lee Greenwood

If tomorrow all the things were gone
I'd worked for all my life,
And I had to start again
with just my children and my wife,
I'd thank my lucky stars
to be living here today,
'Cause the flag still stands for freedom
and they can't take that away.

I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

From the lakes of Minnesota
to the hills of Tennessee,
Across the plains of Texas
from sea to shining sea.
From Detroit down to Houston
and New York to L.A.,
There's pride in every American heart
and it's time we stand and say:

I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.
