Love Takes Time

One day I tried to rush my love,
He said, "Please, don't push and shove."
"Love will come at it's own pace and speed."
"It takes time, yes indeed."
For many days I was patient with my love,
He said, "I feel we are blessed from above."
"Will you please marry me?"
"Together the future we will see."
I said to my love,
"Please, don't push and shove."
"The future will come at it's own pace and speed."
"It takes time, yes indeed."
For many days my love was patient with me,
I said, "I feel we are meant to be."
"I accept the proposal to marry you."
"Together we'll stand and say I do."
He said, "You have made me a happy man."
I said, "I'll wear your ring upon my hand."
He said, "It took patience and time indeed."
I said, "Love grew at it's own pace and speed."
We said, "Love takes time, yes indeed."
"It is a precious tender seed."
"Be patient, don't push and shove."
"Plenty of space is required for real love."
