Choices We Make

Today as I walked in the park,

I realized that yesterday has disappeared into the dark,

Admittedly the mistakes were many but the regrets are few,

Because without the trial and error there would be no me and you.  

Some say looking back they would not do it all over again,

I guess they are afraid some of the battles they would not win.

But I am not from that group of broken hearts,

Because you and me have been given so many new starts.  

Today I am walking with the outcome of the choices made,

And I vow never to let the memories fade.

Because I now realize those memories are the compass of life,

Helping to guide one through additional times of strife.  

So today as I walked in the park,
