Welcome to Poetry by RonCool

This page is to let you know a little about me.
Who is RonCool?
For starters, my real name is Rhonda Cooley, thus the nickname RonCool.
The two names kinda shortened and run together.
Made a pretty "cool" nickname if I do say so myself.
My faith...
I am a Christian. I have been since the age of 15.
I am now 39. During that time I have had many growing experiences.
Some were hard times. Others were more emotional times but they all
served a purpose in my life. They have helped me reach the point I live
at now. A daily walk of faith. No doubts or questions.
Just simple Faith.
Now about family...
I have been married for 20 years. Have one daughter age 16.
Being a wife and mother has brought many challenges along with it
but somehow I have managed to meet them all so far.
Occupations...
I am a Teacher's Aide at a High School.
I love working with the kids. Most of these kids are really good at heart
but some are a little rough around the edges.
It is my job as "mentor" to help smooth out some of those edges.
I find it both a challenge and a reward.
I feel called to serve God in this position.
I am also a Tax Preparer during tax season, Jan. to April.
No, I am NOT the IRS. Just a preparer for H&R Block.
Please do not get us confused.
I like to help people KEEP their money!
In addition to these two jobs...
I am a College Student.
I am attending college to become a teacher. I enjoy learning.
I value this education much more now than I did when I was young.
I think the math is my favorite as I love a challenge.
Hobbies...
My hobbies include music, writing and web page building.
Mostly I write poetry but have written a couple short stories and songs.
Music is also a talent God has given me.
I can play a little guitar, piano and organ by ear. Cannot read or write a single note.
Web page building takes me to a whole different world.
I can sit down and start to create leaving the world and all it's problems behind.
It is one of my favorite past times.
It is on my web pages that all my hobbies come together as one.
Collections...
I collect a few things.
One being people.
Not that I sit them on a shelf and dust them off every once in awhile
but in that I love people. All kinds of people. For example, I have one little German friend.
Met her at H&R Block. She was new to our country and did not understand many of our ways.
I helped her get more accustomed to our country.
I helped her fill out applications to get a better paying job, etc.
She continues to be a special person I "collected" in that every time I see her
joy is returned to me for the help I gave to her.
That is what I mean by people collecting.
I have been known to say...
"When you die:
People are the only thing of value you leave behind
and the only thing of value you can take with you."
So, give it a try...
Collect some people today!
Second, I collect Lighthouses & Ocean Stuff.
Lighthouses speak to me of my personal saviour Jesus Christ.
The ocean speaks to me of the greatness of God.
Third, I collect coins.
Coins are just an interest I have had since childhood.
Wheat pennies, foreign money, etc.
Fourth, I collect giraffes.
Don't have many of these yet. Mostly pictures of them.
Indians believed in Spirit Animals.
I kinda see the giraffe as my Spirit Animal.
In that the giraffe has the long neck and can see into the future.
Sometimes I can do that.
Fifth, I collect books.
I have psychology books, self help books, old books from childhood.
Garden books, spiritual books, all kinds of books.
Sixth, I collect Goofy's.
Goofy's remind me to take the lighter side of life.
When times are tough and you are down,
you MUST remember to find the humor in things.
That is what the Goofy is for.
When the going gets tough...
Get Goofy!
That is all for now.
