Power of a Puppy

by Rhonda Cooley

He seems to understand, when no one else has a clue,

And yet he never tries to tell me what to do.

He knows just when to sit and do his loyal part,

Into his sad little eyes, I pour out my heart.

I know it may sound silly to quite a few of you,

But my dear little puppy knows just what to do.

He whines and he whimpers, then he licks my sad face,

And all of a sudden, the world is not so bad a place.

So when you need a hand up and know not what to do,

See what the Power of a Puppy can do for you.

Things I learned from a Puppy...

It's in the valleys I grow

I was sad when I got swatted, for tinkling on the floor....

But I learned to prance right over and wait by the door!

So now I get praises for being smarter than ever!

While I just stand there looking quite clever.

So I am thankful for the valleys, because it's in them that I grow,

I never would have learned this but my master taught me so.
