The Christian He Was By David Haskins Even in the most intense moments to be, Kerry declared his love because Jesus Christ set him free. Our troubles may be big, but not as big as your Soul, that Jesus holds. For in the hands of God, He molded the sands that maketh a Man. Tho thy body be broken and thy joy be sad, and our very own Soul be gone, God has called, Kerry's gone home... For I say to the family, tho thy grief be great, Jesus will guide you, across this great straight. For it is in Him, tho life may end, yet the promise of love, that Life will begin. He guardeth our nights and lighten our days, with His Love, we live always. Let us be together, tho sad be the case, to cherish this Life's moments, we all must face. Tho Kerry seems gone, his memory lives on, to shine the path to believers, that there is a Heavenly Home. For in his own words, surely he would say, Trust in Jesus, He will show you the way. Trouble not your hearts for a new life has began, for God has smiled, and took Kerry by the hand. So in the days, as our hurts begin to ease, lets remember the good words, for his moments to be, Kerry declared his Love, because Jesus set him Free... Rain not the fears of death we know, but rejoice in the Life, that Jesus shows. God bless Kerry, forever and ever... To Ruby and Keith... Sincerely from now to eternitys end, with all my Love, God be with you always...

About Kerry Dean Kendrick by RonCool He was my first brother-in-law and we all thought he was so cool. He drove a really nice Mustang which was painted blue and fixed up really nice. When he and my sister first got married he would take us cruising in his Mustang. We thought we were in Heaven as we went up and down Timberland in our hometown. (Timberland was the cruising street where all the kids cruised on weekends.) They would also take us out to pizza or to drive the bumper cars. Kerry was just tons of fun. Kerry was cool! A few years later he and my sister got into church and he was tamed down just a bit, but he was still cool. He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. They done lots of really neat stuff for the Lord. Kerry took his ministry even further by becoming a Reverend. Talk about shocked people. They would ask two or three times to be sure they heard you right. Kerry is a Rev??? You have got to be kidding. Well, no we were not kidding. He talked to everyone for Jesus Christ then. It did not matter who you were or where you were, Kerry was going to talk to you about Jesus and how he had saved him. You see Kerry had a rough life. He had lost his mother, dad and baby sister when he was two years old. He was raised by his Grandpa and his Grandpa loved him so much he tended to be a little easy on him. So Kerry got into all kinds of stuff. He quit school in the 8th grade after a motorcycle accident. He decided he had missed too much and would not be able to make it up. Well, with all that time on his hands he just got into more trouble. Finally, he did return to school and went for a couple years before he met my sister. They were inseparable and eventually married. Those were the good old Mustang days. My silly sis quit school right as she was about to graduate because Kerry had quit and gone to work to support them. She had missed so many days they told her she could not graduate even though she had all A's. This upset her and Kerry so she just quit. Not really a good choice but the one she made. This is where the struggles begin. Both were working trying to make it when Kerry had yet another motorcycle wreck. This time it was not his fault. Some lady had pulled out in from of him when he was returning to work. He had just left my sis at her job. He was broken up pretty bad. We were not sure he was going to make it. We went to visit him in the hospital even though my dad did not want us to. My dad was mad at my sis for running off and getting married when she turned 18, so we had to sneak around to go visit her and Kerry. It was a long, long journey to recovery and somewhere in that road to recovery my dad finally came around and decided we could be a family again. Kerry and Ruby got really serious about church after this serious time in their lives. They decided they needed God to help them through the rough days of marriage. After being in church awhile, Kerry studied and took the test to get his license to preach. He became a Reverend. Many lives were changed by Kerry's conversion to Jesus Christ. He never stopped telling people about Jesus Christ right up to the time of his death. That is why a man who worked with him wrote this poem listed here about Kerry. It was read at his funeral. There was standing room only. They were overflowing out into the halls. I remember there was a call to salvation during the service. Kerry would have so liked that especially since there were people who did stand indicating they wanted to come to Christ right there at Kerry's funeral. The part I played in all of this was as organizer. When the accident happened, there were lots of things we had to take care of. As we drove my sis from place to place that terrible day, she talked non stop about what Kerry would have wanted. As she talked, I jotted down everything she said. By the time she did stop talking, I had it all recorded. Who the pall bearers were to be, what songs they were to have, who the Reverends were to be. Who was to lead the service, who was to end it. The most impressive part of the service besides people standing and accepting Jesus Christ as their Personal Saviour, was The Christian Motorcycle Association as Honary Pall Bearers. They lead the hearse all the way to the Cemetery. We could see them there out in front from our place in the family car. Watching them lead the way was like the final salute to Kerry for The Christian That He Was. He touched many lives. There is not a day that goes by even now, that I do not hear his voice or see his smile. My first brother-in-law helped to found my faith in Jesus Christ and for that I will always remember him. This memory page is a tribute to Kerry in an effort to continue his call to bring lost souls to Jesus Christ. So today if you are reading this and you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Personal Saviour, please bow your head and say the sinners prayer, and begin to celebrate John 3:16 in your life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Kerry left behind an 8 year old son, Keith Dale Kendrick.
He has followed in his Dad's foot steps by staying in church and becoming the Minister of Music. He is now 21 years old. Living without his Dad was not always easy but Keith has given his Dad reason to be proud of him. He is currently enrolled in college to become a Respiratory Therapist. He is a member of the college choir group and has enormous talent in the music field. His dad too loved music. For some midi files for Good Gospel Music, follow this link. The background music you are hearing on this page is: The Midnight Cry, it was played at Kerry's funeral and was one of his favorites, always believing His Saviour Jesus Christ was coming to take him home. Came a little earlier than we all wanted but we have had to walk on in faith and give Kerry something to look forward to when we all have our great homecoming in Heaven. We have been left behind to do more work for our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ who said, "Occupy until I come".

Lyrics Midnight Cry Verse 1 I hear the sound of a mightly rushing wind, And it's closer now than it's ever been. I can almost hear the trumpet as Gabriel sounds the call. And at the midnight cry, we'll be going home.
Chorus: When Jesus steps out, On a cloud to call His children. The dead in Christ shall rise, To meet him in the air. Then those that remain, Shall be quickly changed. At the midnight cry, We'll be going home.
Verse 2 I look around and see the prophecies fulfilling, And the signs of the times, are appearing everywhere. I can almost hear the Father, saying Son go get my children. And at the midnight cry, the Bride of Christ shall rise.
Chorus: When Jesus steps out, on a cloud to get His children, The dead in Christ shall rise, To meet him in the air. Then those that remain, Shall be quickly changed. At the Midnight Cry, We'll be going home.
