How Great Thou Art in Times of Trouble By Rhonda Cooley Feb. 6, 2003
On that sad and frightful day, We were shocked with so little to say. We could not believe this could happen here, We had more than just a little fear. I tell you, this is true, We had forgotten what God can do.
How could it be that no one on the ground was hurt? As shuttle debris was scattered all over earth as dirt. Even on that tragic day, God's power was on display. I tell you this is true, We had forgotten what God can do.
We saw the stars, we heard the rolling thunder, Our eyes gazed upon the heavens in wonder. The travelers who were to return that day, Seemed to have lost their way. But wait, that is not true, Remember what God has said He can do.
God's power throughout the universe was displayed, From our faith in Him, we are not swayed. The travelers returned from their venture into space, Scattered here in this earthly place. A terrible tragedy, yes, that is true, But remember what God has said He can do.
In that moment in the twinkling of an eye, These travelers did not really die. They were taken in space travel only God can give, They were taken to heaven to eternally live. The Bible tells us this is true, This is what God has said He can do.
The travelers now see wonders never seen in space, For God has taken them to His heavenly place. There they see a new world, not yet known to man, Their voices join the hallelujah band. The Bible tells us this is true, This is what God has said He can do.
Lyrics How Great Thou Art O Lord my God! when I in awesome wonder Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made, I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed: Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee: How great Thou art, how great Thou art! Then sings my soul! my Savior God, to Thee: How great Thou art, how great Thou art! When through the woods and forest glades I wander And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees; When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze: Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee: How great Thou art, how great Thou art! Then sings my soul! my Savior God, to Thee: How great Thou art, how great Thou art! And when I think that God, His Son not sparing, Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in; That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing, He bled and died to take away my sin: Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee: How great Thou art, how great Thou art! Then sings my soul! my Savior God, to Thee: How great Thou art, how great Thou art! When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart! Then I shall bow in humble adoration, And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art! Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee: How great Thou art, how great Thou art! Then sings my soul! my Savior God, to Thee: How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
