Glimpse of Eternity

Before God's throne I stood,
I looked and all had worked together for good.
Loved ones were there singing God's praise,
Their shining faces raised,
To His throne.
No more pain seen in their eyes,
No more questions about why.
Just the peace and love promised from days of old,
Their faces shining like gold,
As they praised Him.
They praised Him for his saving grace,
They thanked Him for this heavenly place,
They bask in the presence of the Son,
Jesus Christ, the Only One,
Who could forgive their sins.
Their praise was returned by His love,
Dwelling there with Him in Heaven above.
Not there for just a moment, or a day,
But for all eternity, until time passes away,
Forever.
It was not my time to join them up there,
I still had too many things to do down here,
So the vision was closed but the peace remained,
A glimpse of all that can be attained,
By praying to the Lord.

So I closed my eyes and sang this prayer...
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed by thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
Amen.
