What a joy to remember.
Of days gone by,
Perhaps in December,
That special gift given in love.
That sweet word of kindness some one said.
That special occasion,
Even perhaps a tear that was shed.
Just a smile perhaps....
A rose sent by someone who cared,
A walk on the shore,
A hug that was shared.
Memories are such nice things to have,
Thoughts of the heart.
Thoughts that will always endure,
Though in this life we have to part.
We can always return,
To things that happened in our past.
There may be changes in our life,
Our memories will always last.
So keep my memory in your heart,
Though perfect it may not be.
Cherish the times we shared as a friend,
When I am not here for you to see.
Perhaps I said a kind word to you,
Or was close by when you needed someone.
Perhaps my memory... you'll always have,
When my life on earth is done.
