Sprawling on a corner along Main Street.
A place where I spent lots of time,
And made many prints with my tiny feet.
XOXOXOXOXO
Its gabled roof sheltered lots of love,
The wrap around porches witnessed lots of talk.
Its many rooms contained lots of joy,
Through its doors many friends would walk.
XOXOXOXOXO
The old house hosted many dinners,
We fed all who came through the door.
My family always fed the hungry,
Many times they would come back for more.
XOXOXOXOXO
They didn't just come for food,
It was the love they felt while there.
A warm hug, a pat on the back,
Knowing that someone really cared.
XOXOXOXOXO
You know even today love is free,
Not hard, the task is so small.
The return is vast, Why do we pause,
You can make love out of nothing at all.
XOXOXOXOXO
Show someone today that you really care,
Take the time and give a call.
Show a smile, give a hug.
Showing love costs nothing at all.
