Just one red rose, by itself, in a vase.
Just a little rose is all that I wish,
'twould bring a smile upon my face.
Just one red rose on Valentine's day,
My husband would always send, you see.
Just a red rose to show his love.
Just one red rose from him to me.
Just one red rose, just one little smile.
Now he is gone, 'twould be so nice,
On Valentine's day, if I could have
Just one red rose,no frills, no spice.
Just one red rose doesn't cost very much,
Just one red rose in a little vase.
'twould mean so very much to me,
A rose to set on my table of lace.
When my time on earth is o'er,
Just one red rose in the coffin with me,
Is all that I ask, just one last request.
Don't weep for me, for I shall be free.
