Volunteer!
If you are at least 18 years old and are a year-round resident of the island, you are eligible to join the Stranding Team. When a marine mammal is reported, volunteers find the animal to confirm the sighting and immediately call others. Later, there may be a need to post observers, take measurements on dead animals, and other tasks. There are many tasks that need to be done by volunteers!
