NBI Biennial Research Conference
A full day conference, offered every other year, featuring oral presentations and posters relating to biodiversity research on Nantucket, its surrounding waters, and coastal New England. This conference is free to register and open to anyone intersted in learning about the biodiversity present on Nantucket.

NBI Annual Research Grants
Each year, the NBI funds research projects designed to increase
understanding of the unique bioversity present on Nantucket,
Tuckernuck, and Muskeget. The NBI program awards grants of
$1,500 or less to researchers from all areas of the sciences.
Researchers can use the funding to pay for the purchase of
equipment necessary to complete a specific research project.
Grant recipients are encouraged to participate in our biennial
Research Conferences and Biodiversity Assessment Weeks, held
in alternate years.

NBI Citizen Science
Every other year, scientists and naturalist converge on Nantucket for a week of biodiversity related inventory work, research and public education. Experts in plant identification, insects, reptiles, amphibians, birds, mammals and many more spend a week leading walks, conducting research and networking. Anyone interested in learning about the biodiversity of Nantucket is welcome to participate.
