William Alton has been many things in life. He has been an abuse victim. He has been a runaway and an addict. He has been violent and suicidal. For two and a half years he was incarcerated in various psychiatric hospitals.

On October 31, 1985, a week before his sixteenth birthday, Bill pulled it together, got sober and got real. Now, he is a parent, a spouse and a friend. He is a teacher, a writer, an artist, an actor and a public speaker.

Bill has turned his experience into a challenging and humorous message of success, perseverance and hope. The stories Bill tells of his life inspire, motivate and challenge his audience to investigate their lives, their experiences and the choices they've made, take responsibility for them and live a life of hope, humor and charity.
