Nick Knight
In my opinion, Forever Knight is one of the most underappreciated television shows ever made.  It predated Buffy and Angel, had a massive cult following, and got no respect from televsion executives.  It maintained power and artistic integrity through the brutal changes inflicted upon it in a pitiful attempt to attract the all-important 18-24 year old male viewers.  For a low-budget Canadian television show, it touched an incredible number of hearts.

Forever Knight had it all: fearless social commentary (without preaching); characters that were human, flawed and lovable; and it brought the paranormal down to a relatable level.  This show was one of the rare gems where the vampires were more than just monsters.  they had feelings and distinct personalities.  Though some had distinctly evil personalities, other vamps, like Nick, were decidedly the good guys.

Granted, that last concept is probably enough to send the average religious zealot into screaming conniptions, which might be why I like it so much.

Why do I like this show?
Mostly because it is so different from any other show about vampires or the paranormal that I've ever seen and the plots were excellent (in the first two seasons, anyway).   But it also might have something to do with Nick Knight and the gorgeous actor who played him, Geraint Wyn Davies.  He's really blond and blue-eyed, even though he doesn't appear so in the pictures that I have here.  Of course, he's also the reason why most of the fans of Forever Knight are female.

I personally think that Nick should give up the whole becoming mortal again thing and accept that he CAN be a good guy and a vampire at the same time.  As a matter of fact, he could do more good by using his vampire powers.  Besides, I like seeing him with his fangs out.  That set of opinions is what makes me a Dark Knightie.  Do NOT mention bricks around me unless it is in reference to building materials...  And I wanted him to get together with Natalie, but that was mostly out of the thought that if he could love her, he could love me!

Avalon
Short novel dealing with Nick and Natalie's post-Last Knight relationship.  Nick sorts out his feelings for Natalie and Janette, with some interference.  The ultimate showdown reflects my obsession with David Cassidy, and there are also references to him throughout the story.  I couldn't keep him from creeping in!

Sunshine

Nick and Nat finally get it together, to Aerosmith's song 'Sunshine'.  The song seemed to fit their situation, the rather less-than-excellent story was built around it.
