What is poetry? To me it is something that moves me, it can make me feel anger, joy, sadness, excitement...the whole range of emotions. Poetry is wonderful in that it can move us in so many ways, one of the greatest being that it can help us to see that truly we are not alone in this world.

I'm probably just like anyone else, as I have composed in the region of 200 plus poems and some storys too. I started to write at a very early age of 6, I used to assemble all my dolls and teddies under a beautiful oak tree in our back garden,

where I would sit and just put my words down ( even with spelling mistakes ) and write my poems/storys involving my family under the tree,

I guess as I started to grow up my first love has always been words. Writing essays, poetry, short stories and articles all originated from my love of language. In poetry, I can experiment with language without the need to follow the same formal rules that I must when writing new stories and essays.

Choosing the perfect words in the right combination takes on a heightened importance in poetry, but it is also good practice for learning how to write well in other formats. Like all writing, I don't think that you can ever be truly finished with a poem, because there are always thoughts to rearrange, different words to try, and new ideas to add.

I particularly love writing anything romantic Im that kind of girl that loves expressing my true feelings of love within for they are intensely personal things.

Below is some of my poetry, I do hope you will enjoy reading them as I will add more as time goes on, so please call back, if you wish to email me, then please do.
Thank you for stopping by. oxoxox

Please enjoy reading below." Special Occasion's "
*This poem is special as I composed it for one of my special online friends, Katlee from Mitchigan, USA, she is a dear friend of mine, and as she puts it Im her " doll " thats a cute nickname ive been given by her, by day shes a dress designer, so during 2001, I did this poem for her, the ultimate goal of meeting one another, came in summer 2002, when kat and her husband Bruce visited England...I guess it took us about 5 min to properly say hello to each other, the hugs and tears of happiness in meeting for the first time was overjoyed.

I can admire your beauty, To which I must stare. Your chin, your mouth, your nose and eyes,
All add to a face so fair.
A single Red Rose

is given from the heart to the one you L-O-V-E most.
May we never be appart.

" A Friend "
by
Ashleigh Jane, London, England.

A friend,
What is one of them?
A person who will stick with you to the end,
Someone with whom you have fun,
Someone with a comfy shoulder,
Which you can cry upon,
Someone to make you laugh.
Someone to make you smile,
When you are down,
Someone to make you,
Learn never to frown.
And as you are a friend,
You will have to do these too,
To stick with them until the end,
And do the best you can do.
So tell me, who is a friend?
I'll tell you who!
Isn't it obvious?
It's YOU!

" Does It Matter? "
by
Ashleigh Jane, London, England.

My Mother ask if I was lesbian?
I asked her does it matter?
She said no, not really
I said Yes
She said get out of my life
I guess it mattered.
My boss asked if I was lesbian
I asked does it matter?
She said no, not really
I said Yes
She said you're fired
I guess it mattered
My friend asked if I was lesbian
I said does it matter?
She said no, not really
I said Yes
She said Don't call me your friend
I guess it mattered
My Lover asked Do you Love me?
I asked does it matter
She said Yes
I told her I Love You
She said let me hold you in my arms
For the first time in my life something matters
My GOD asked Do you Love yourself?
I said does it matter?
She said Yes
I said how can I love myself?
I am Lesbian
She said that is the way I made you
Nothing again will ever matter.

" Angel's "
by
Ashleigh Jane, London, England.

When I have no one to turn to
And I am feeling kind of low,
When there is no one to talk to
And nowwhere I want to go,
I search deep within myself
It is the love inside my heart
That lets me know my Angels are there
Even though we are miles apart

A smile the appears upon my face
And the sun begins to shine.
I hear a voice, so soft and sweet
Saying,'Everything will be just fine'
It may seem that I am alone
But I am never by myself at all.
Whenever I need my Angels near
All I have to do is call.

An Angel's love is always true
On that you can depend.
They will always stand behind you
And will always be your friend.
Though darkest hours and brightest days
Our Angels see us through.
You are one of my Angels.
Perhaps I am one for you.

" A Vision Of Reality "
by
Ashleigh Jane, London, England.

Horse's and pony's, cows and sheep roam here and about,
Some with utmost beauty their is no doubt,
In the distance, hills seem to beckon,
Our feathered friends are in heaven,
On each hilltop, trees make their mark,
Even to be seen when its dark,
On the ground, house's of moor granite glow,
Streams through villages never ending flow,
A variety of fields in between,
No better sight that I have seen,
Sky of blue, hot summer night's,
Tranquility is my delight,
Through my bedroom window I stand and stare,
Its not a dream Its really there.

" Living "
by
Ashleigh Jane, London, England.

All I need is what living takes
Up in the mountains or amongst the lakes
Down in the city or out by the sea
Wherever it is that I may be.

I am the summer breeze
Rustling through the leaves
The smell that wafts on over
From playing in the clover.

I am the oceanside
Awash from the tide
The waves that lap the shore
Each comb with a tale of lands before.

I am the bright blue sky
The clouds that scud on by
The winds that oftens blow
And I'm everything below.

All I need is what living takes
Up in the mountains or amongst the lakes
Down in the city or out by the sea
Wherever it is that I may be.

" Cloudburst "
by
Ashleigh Jane, London, England.

Years, like lightning,
flicker on high.
flashes of brilliance
light up the sky.
For one moment in time
the night seems so clear
what was once distant
now touches from near.

Memories, like the thunder
which arrives at last,
replay the events
of days gone past.
And the rumblings which you hear echoing,
resonating in your ear
are merely remainders of some prior year.

Now I see no stars
reflected in your eyes
obscured as they are
by glowering grey skies,
and what visions you yet sustain
are as a fulminated tree
that crumbles black chalk
and dissolves in the rain.

" You "
by
Ashleigh Jane, London, England.

I want to fill these pages for you
So that even when I'm not with you
you can hear my voice
and smell my perfume
and see my face
You may not think so
But when your a sleep the silky slip of my shadow
will slide under the sheets to be next to you
To have you stroke my silky hair and keep me warm
I am always with you when you begin to forget
Let my words comfort your heart for I am part of you.

" A Shy Smile "
by
Ashleigh Jane, London, England.

I see your smile everyday
you catch my stare and I turn away
but a moment later I look again and again
I feel that familiar pain.
I want you here, now by my side but when you come close I run and hide
There is no reason I don't know why
All I know is that I need some time
So if you wonder what I'm trying to say
I wrote this poem to say 'I love you'
