TWO CONDUCTORS

Two conductors
faced each other from across the field.
The flutes firing melodies in flurries
their trumpets passing volleys back and forth, from behind
the timpani's booming from each side
the trombones appearing wildly
to change the course of the symphony

But looking down from their perches
one conductor correctly predicted
how their adversary would react,
and thus it was their band that gained the upper hand,
And the Brown drove the Orange
back into their valley.
