TWO LOVERS IN THE SAME BOAT

You and I were two lovers
in the same boat.
When we were rowing,
the boat threatened to capsize,
and I fell out.

I struggled to grasp the hull
to pull myself back in,
but you kicked me away,
afraid that the boat would overturn.

But then the boat capsized,
and we were both in the water.

Thinking about how wholly she matched my personality, including poetry, like soulmates.
I like this poem because it is an example where the poem ends with a bang, which is something that some of my poems do very well sometimes.
I like it when some of my poems end like that, very abruptly, and very strongly.
