THE RED IN MY PAINTINGS

She form:

I see her face in another's face
walking down the street-
and I want to call her to say to her that
"You are the red in my paintings,"
but I know that I'm not allowed to do that
or to say anything past the comma,
because although she's my intellectual equal
and a peer among morals...
she was still one of my students.

You form:

I see your face in another's face
walking down the street-
and I want to call you to tell you that
"You are the red in my paintings,"
but I know that I'm not allowed to
or to say anything beyond the comma,
because even if you're my intellectual equal,
and a peer among morals...
you were still once one of my students.

Note: although it's a completely different context and meaning, the "Red In My Paintings" idea came from "I am Sam" (the movie).
