MY DARK HAIR BLOWS IN THE WIND

Sitting on the rocks above the ocean,
a silhouette amongst the stars
my dark hair blows in the wind
while the tumulous waves beneath
crash and gurgle against the reefs.
and a quick survey of the world reveals
that I'm alone and the only one that there is,
for it's all becoming clear to me now,
Of course! Justice is blind.
I'm innocent, but it doesn't matter,
because justice is blind. Justice doesn't care about innocence.
All justice cares about is what's best for the future.
That's why I've been punished, that's why I'm going to be punished.
Because I'm not what's best- not because I'm not innocent.
So I'll just have to face my peril.
It really doesn't seem fair,
but that doesn't really matter.
All that matters is what's best-
and I'm not.

So I sit upon these raise'd rocks,
hanging above the ocean's depths,
ready to be buried beneath the black hills below,
staring away into the blackness... in waiting.

this is really rough and I... am rather edgeless, but perhaps I'll carve it to its potential splendor once my guile returns. -- File made 6/15/03, probably written within a week before that.
