FALLING IN LOVE IN FALL

He smirked,
she grinned,
her eyes sparkled.

The leaves crumpled
beneath their feet,
and he laughed.

The trees bared themselves
and said "look at me,
look at my jagged soul,
isn't it beautiful?"

The moon rose,
the stars twinkled above,
and they rubbed noses and cheeks,
locking lips beneath
the starlit night.
