EUDAEMONIA

My heart beats quickly
then slowly
then quickly again.

Some people ask me
why I am smiling.

Because of you.

I say that it's because "I'm happy"
but it's not just happiness.
It's Eudaemonia: fulfillment of life.

Because you permeate
through to the edges of my being.
Making me feel whole
in a soft fuzzy light.

There is no "me" and "the world" with you.
With you, there is only "me in the world":
It's my world and your world
and everyone else's world
when you are here.
At least, for everyone else
that has one of you.
